Within the EOSD 2026 Conference at EPFL, Lausanne, this Special Session provides a focused forum on the role of open-source software in computational structural engineering.
The session addresses the growing need for interoperability, package integration, reproducible workflows, and sustainable software practices across the structural engineering software ecosystem. Particular attention is given to connections with OpenSees, OpenSeesPy, pre- and post-processing tools, and community-developed extensions.
Contributions are welcome on topics including software interoperability, APIs, shared data models, plug-in architectures, reproducibility, cross-tool workflows, licensing, governance, and long-term software maintenance.
